Sometimes you may want to show only a segment of a YouTube video without having to fast forward through it. There are services available that will allow you to send, select and view only certain segments of a YouTube Video.
The Following websites are very useful for this and provide you with links and/or embedding code so that the selection can be easily shared.
Sometimes you may want a collection of videos that you can share by linking to or embedding online. YouTube allows you to create playlists once you have an account. An example of how I use playlists is to gather videos about the different concepts I am teaching together in one place for a project and embedding it on the project web page, providing easy access to students. This saves time and space on the page as I don't have to embed each video in a table for them to view them on my page. Please watch the short video below.
There is a service called Dragontape online that allows you to do something similar by creating "mix tapes" from a selection of YouTube vids you provide. You need an account for this or can sign in with your Facebook Account.
Veengle is another video compilation site, which is similar to Dragontape.
Watch2Gether allows you to create a private screening room for a collection of YouTube videos, and share a link with those you want to view them with. It is free, no account required and even includes its own chat box.
